You know what? I am beginning to wonder -- just a it -- about the so-called Diana Conspiracy. It always seemed the silliest one ever, after maybe the faked Moon landing. It was certainly the result of a billionaire Dad looking for meaning in his son's senseless death and a Public that wanted conspiracy, distrusted anything "official", hungry for conspiracy and, again, fans needing their hero's meaningless death to have meaning.
But I think the door is open, just a crack, that maybe something odd DID happen -- that some crazy sh6t went down here.

If Paul was a Fench Spy -- that explains the $$ put into his account and maybe some of the odd French behavior after the fact even now -- if Paul was actually on assignment that night. If the Greenpeace Warriors were peeping though keyholes it would be tre' embarassing. |

| I was just reading about that, too. It is interesting. Why would the guy off himself to kill her, though? I would think they would have done it a little more "cleanly" if it was indeed a murder, more along the lines of Marilyn Monroe or Vince Foster if you buy any of these conspiracy theories. I think it might be possible though that he was spying on Diana or the guy because they might even then have been checking out Muslims and such things as financing terrorists, etc., although I am loathe to give the French that much credit for having their heads anywhere but up their croissants when it came to fighting anything, much less terrorism. |

My scenario is like this:
Imagine if Diana was often in America and a CIA asset, who had been paid several 100K by the Agency for various services, was often employed as her driver on these trips. He was working, Diana was an Intelligence target and her activities monitored and reported on by the asset. One night the asset gets loaded and, unexpectedly, is called to drive Diana. There is a fiery crash with him at the wheel and the a$$-covering begins.... Clumsily some elements of the government try to obscure the assests activities and relationship fueling further suspicion.
Taking the CIA out and inserting French Intelligence is what I think may have actually happened. |
